Carry on Smartly! Ditch the Covid-19 Blues is not a psychological guidebook, a mentorship strategy nor a spiritual quick fix. It is a collection of physical and spiritual activities practiced continuously over a 12-months period which have provided proven results for the author, his family, friends and others who were part of his network during a 365-days period from 2020 – 2021.
During March 2020 when COVID-19 patients were declared dead with much frequency and lockdown was the buzzword, the fears and anxieties of family members and friends became a reality. The press releases on the corona virus, loaded with uncertainty, precipitated mental health challenges not only in Guyana but throughout the world.
The book promotes God as the tried and tested Personal Coach for everyone through his scripted word and prophets. Many of the scriptures quoted are from the King James version of the Bible while the lyrics of the selected songs are contextually relevant, the movies recommended are uplifting and the contents of the chapters are randomly set as life is set. The chapters are filled with the testimonies of sound principles at work. 2021 was the base year for seeking genuine friendships, lasting and meaningful relations with deity and embracing spiritual, physical, and emotional healing. The author’s experience has been one of reflection and transformation thinking as he sought out what was hopeful, developmental, progressive and empowering.
Plagues have been seen as God’s way of dealing with his recalcitrant children. According to Christian scriptures, after the people had repented and appealed to their God for respite, the plague was removed. This life-changing event must be seen as a time to reflect on one’s way of life, one’s choices and a time of repentance as people grow closer to the God who made them, whether they are atheists, agnostics or believers.
